Lord of Furnitures

Ingvar Kamprad, the one who brought affordable woodwork to every household. March 30, 1926 was the day the world destined to gain the knowledge of flat-packed furniture.

Born in his family’s farm in Elmtaryd near the village of Agunnaryd in Sweden, the legacy that he's going to imprint to world with cannot be took upon lightly as he created the biggest furniture empire the world had ever seen.

This isn't just your everyday flat-packed furniture around the block, it reduces shipping costs, minimizes transport damage, increases store inventory capacity, and makes it easier for customers themselves to take the furniture home, rather than needing delivery. The home assembly process was also streamlined by this revolutionary idea!!

This idea sprung from an employee when he needed to fit a table into his car. While He was struggling to stick the darn table with 4 protruding legs into his tiny car, in his vent of frustration... he saw off the legs of the table and reassembled them at home!!

Eventually The company bought the idea, then Presto!! IKEA's flat-packed furniture empire was born!! Simple as that!! Taking an idea and developed it to unbelievable heights!!

Oh, on the side note.. Ever wonder what does the name IKEA in uppercase represents?? ^_^
